Military Oha - The Department of Defense, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R), Directorate of Military Compensation Policy will conduct an overseas housing allowance (OHA) cost survey from January 1 to March 31, 2023.
The survey was designed to collect data on the services and ongoing maintenance costs incurred by members of the uniformed services stationed overseas who live in private residences.

"Overseas Housing Allowance is a valuable entitlement for service members stationed overseas," said Capt. Christian D. Torres, director of operations for the 86th Control Squadron. "Information submitted directly affects utility and recurring fees paid to service members."

Members of the Kaiserslautern Military Community should participate in the survey if they receive OHA and meet the following qualifications:
The survey is voluntary and takes about 15 minutes, and should be completed by a service member or their spouse who knows about housing costs. A Common Access Card is not required to access the survey.
Before you start your research, gather your bills, receipts and records of utility and ongoing maintenance costs incurred in the past 12 months, and calculate a monthly average for each of these costs, if applicable, Torres said. Report all expenses in the currency you paid in and do not convert any expenses.
"Your time and effort in answering the survey questions allows the Department of Defense to determine fair OHA rates," Torres said. "We ask that you make every effort to complete the survey and accurately report your expenses."
